The following is, in part, a commentary I authored in November for the Star Tribune. Instead of using my commentary, they chose one from someone else who spent more time simply attacking the Republican Party. It should surprise no one if the Star Tribune continues to print commentaries criticizing Republican endorsements in the future. A November 11th commentary authored by Ben Golnik, a former executive director of the Republican Party of Minnesota, called for an end to the state’s process of endorsing Republican candidates for office. |

During the Republican National Convention, I was quoted in this piece authored by Kevin Diaz and Baird Helgeson for the Star Tribune. Check it out by clicking here or scrolling down._______________________________ TAMPA, FLA. - Taking his turn in the national GOP spotlight Wednesday, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty delivered one of the convention's most scathing critiques of President Obama, calling him the "tattoo president ... like a big tattoo, it seemed cool when you were young." |

For those keeping track, these are the results from Saturday’s national delegate elections. The top twelve contestants were elected. I was unable to record results for the candidates Tracy Ries or Don Evanson, but the other 33 candidates placed as follows. Though Don Huizenga placed in 13th place, his vote total fell below the 50 percent threshold required to win. Rather than going to a second ballot, Don endorsed Rep. Michele Bachmann (who placed 14th), and the delegation elected her by acclamation. |
