The most newsworthy items in the race for chair of the Minnesota Republican Partycome courtesy of Terry McCall & Brandon Sawalich. I received word from Brandonthat he is thinking about it; I received news (originally from CoreySax) that Terry McCall is also thinking about it. (Click hereto read more about the movement for McCall on MPR. I first met Brandon in 2009; I have known or at least known of Terry McCall for a couple of years longer. I will be doing an internship with the Cato Institute's Center for Educational Freedom in Washington D.C. starting in the beginning of September and running through the middle of December. You may expect that I will be updating this Website about as frequently as I do now. As to the Minnesota-based political action committee "Simply Right" for which I serve as the executive director, it will continue to meet regularly courtesy of members I am appointing to run the group. |

Featured speakers at the next edition of Simply Right are to be Jeff Johnson, who defeated Tom Emmer to become Minnesota's commiteeman on the Republican National Commitee earlier this year; and Rep. Andrea Kieffer, who was elected last year to represent the Woodbury area in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Rep. Kieffer is someone I became more acquainted with over the course of my own campaign for the Minnesota House. I believe she is more genuine than a lot of elected officials, so I appreciate her willingness to speak to our group. |

Joe Salmon, Chair of the Senate District 56 (Woodbury) Republicans, is going to speak at the April 21st edition of Simply Right. Joe's organization elected three great Republicans -- two to the Minnesota House and one to the Minnesota Senate -- in the last election. Joe has been a friend for a couple of years now and is well-known among Minnesota Republicans.
