I will be leaving for my internship in Washington on Friday, September 9. However, I am glad to be able to announce that Simply Right will proceed as scheduled and will be meeting again on Thursday, September 15. The time and standard location apply: 7:00 p.m. at Tobies Restaurant & Bakery in Hinckley, Minnesota.
Dan Severson, who served as a Minnesota state representative from 2003-2010, will be one of the group's scheduled speakers. He ran unsuccessfully for Secretary of State in 2010 and is the only credible Republican to have announced candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2012. My faith in his conservative credentials is strengthened by the fact that he is willing to speak to our group.
The second speaker will be Norann Dillon, who currently serves as chairwoman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Minnesota (RLCMN). Norann ran unsuccessfully to represent the city of Plymouth in the Minnesota Senate in 2010 but was elected chair of the RLCMN in 2011. The RLCMN serves to promote conservative ideas and to encourage liberty-minded candidates within the Republican Party. (As a sidenote, I currently serve as secretary for the group.)
The yearly due to be a member of the RLCMN is $40. People who sign up for the Minnesota chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus are also granted membership to the national Republican Liberty Caucus. If you're interested in learning more, check out www.RLCMN.org or visit with Norann at the upcoming meeting.
