Simply Right

McCall & Sawalich; Dec. 13 Simply Right Guest List

The most newsworthy items in the race for chair of the Minnesota Republican Partycome courtesy of Terry McCall & Brandon Sawalich. I received word from Brandonthat he is thinking about it;  I received news (originally from CoreySax) that Terry McCall is also thinking about it. (Click hereto read more about the movement for McCall on MPR.
I first met Brandon in 2009; I have known or at least known of Terry McCall for a couple of years longer. I also serve with Terry on the board of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Minnesota.

December 13th Simply Right: Judge Tad Jude & Radio Host Sue Jeffers

On Tuesday, December 13th, I will be hosting or participating in multiple events at Tobies Restaurant & Bakery in Hinckley, Minnesota beginning at 6:00 p.m. The first two guests to commit to the event are 10th Judicial District Judge Tad Jude, elected in 2010 to serve our region until 2016, and talk radio host Sue Jeffers. I will announce more special guests closer to the event.
As I am also the chairman of the Pine County Republicans, I will be chairing a meeting of that group at 6:00 p.

U.S. Senate Candidate Dan Severson & RLCMN Chair Norann Dillon @ Simply Right September 15

I will be leaving for my internship in Washington on Friday, September 9. However, I am glad to be able to announce that Simply Right will proceed as scheduled and will be meeting again on Thursday, September 15. The time and standard location apply: 7:00 p.m. at Tobies Restaurant & Bakery in Hinckley, Minnesota.
Dan Severson, who served as a Minnesota state representative from 2003-2010, will be one of the group's scheduled speakers. He ran unsuccessfully for Secretary of State in 2010 and is the only credible Republican to have announced candidacy for the U.

Going to Washington

I will be doing an internship with the Cato Institute's Center for Educational Freedom in Washington D.C. starting in the beginning of September and running through the middle of December.
You may expect that I will be updating this Website about as frequently as I do now. As to the Minnesota-based political action committee "Simply Right" for which I serve as the executive director, it will continue to meet regularly courtesy of members I am appointing to run the group.

Rep. Andrea Kieffer & Republican National Commiteeman Jeff Johnson @ Simply Right July 28

Featured speakers at the next edition of Simply Right are to be Jeff Johnson, who defeated Tom Emmer to become Minnesota's commiteeman on the Republican National Commitee earlier this year; and Rep. Andrea Kieffer, who was elected last year to represent the Woodbury area in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Rep. Kieffer is someone I became more acquainted with over the course of my own campaign for the Minnesota House. I believe she is more genuine than a lot of elected officials, so I appreciate her willingness to speak to our group.

The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Tobies in Hinckley. Twila Brase will be joining Pat Anderson, Minnesota's National Committeewoman on the Republican National Committee.

Joe Salmon, Chair of the Senate District 56 (Woodbury) Republicans, is going to speak at the April 21st edition of Simply Right. Joe's organization elected three great Republicans -- two to the Minnesota House and one to the Minnesota Senate -- in the last election. Joe has been a friend for a couple of years now and is well-known among Minnesota Republicans.
