Governor Dayton vetoed the lines drawn for Minnesota's new legislative districts passed by Republicans in the Legislature, according to a story in the Associated Press today. It means that the courts will decide how districts ultimately are drawn. This has been the case for the last several decades.

The new districts would have been an inconvenience for some legislators and many candidates.
